CJC-1295 (no DAC) side effects and results in studies
There are no published side-effect data for CJC-1295 without DAC in these records; the only human safety data come from trials of CJC-1295 with DAC. Those trials reported no serious adverse reactions and described the DAC compound as relatively well tolerated, particularly at 30 or 60 micrograms/kg.
What are the side effects of CJC-1295? For the no-DAC compound (Mod GRF 1-29), the honest answer is that no study in our records measured them. The trials people usually quote tested CJC-1295 with DAC, a different molecule that binds to albumin and keeps working for about a week.
In the DAC trials (Teichman et al. 2006), healthy adults received single or repeated subcutaneous doses and no serious adverse reactions were reported. The abstract gives no list of individual events and no rates, so this page does not name any. The authors' own summary is that the DAC compound was safe and relatively well tolerated, particularly at 30 or 60 micrograms/kg.
What results did the studies measure? The measured outcomes were hormone levels, not body composition or wellbeing in people. With DAC, a single injection raised growth hormone 2- to 10-fold for 6 days or more and IGF-I 1.5- to 3-fold for 9-11 days, and a second study found that the natural pulse pattern of growth hormone was kept. For the unmodified parent peptide, the only measured result here is pharmacokinetic: in rats it was cleared within minutes.
The DAC results are a poor guide to the no-DAC compound. A molecule that is cleared in minutes would give a short rise in growth hormone rather than a week-long one, so exposure, and any effects that depend on it, would differ. That has not been measured in the studies cited here.
Adverse events reported
| Event | As reported | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Serious adverse reactions (CJC-1295 WITH DAC) | None reported in two randomised, placebo-controlled trials in healthy adults; described as relatively well tolerated, particularly at 30 or 60 micrograms/kg | Teichman SL et al. |
| Concerns raised by users (not measured events) | An analysis of 23 online forum threads found concerns about estimating amounts, cycling and long-term consequences; no events or rates were recorded | PMID 26771670 |
Outcomes measured
| Outcome | Result as reported | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Plasma GH after one dose (WITH DAC) | Dose-dependent rise of 2- to 10-fold for 6 days or more | Teichman SL et al. |
| Plasma IGF-I after one dose (WITH DAC) | 1.5- to 3-fold rise for 9-11 days; above baseline for up to 28 days after multiple doses | Teichman SL et al. |
| GH pulsatility (WITH DAC) | Pulse frequency and size unchanged; trough GH up 7.5-fold, mean GH up 46%, IGF-I up 45% | Ionescu M et al. |
| Half-life of the unmodified parent peptide, hGRF(1-29)NH2 (rat) | 10.4 min elimination half-life after i.v. injection; s.c. exposure 4% of i.v. | Rafferty B et al. |

What the studies don't show
No study here reports side effects or outcomes for CJC-1295 without DAC in people or animals. The human trials were short, enrolled healthy volunteers and measured hormone levels, not clinical results. No study here tested CJC-1295 in combination with ipamorelin.
