What is the difference between retatrutide and tirzepatide?
Tirzepatide acts on two receptors, GIP and GLP-1; retatrutide acts on those two and the glucagon receptor as well. Tirzepatide has the larger trial record, across several phase 3 programmes. Retatrutide's phase 2 obesity results were published in 2023, and a phase 3 trial in type 2 diabetes in 2026.
Are metabolic peptides legal in Australia?
Tirzepatide is registered on the ARTG as Mounjaro, a prescription medicine, but that covers the finished product, not research-grade powder. Retatrutide, cagrilintide, MOTS-C, AOD-9604, 5-Amino-1MQ and SLU-PP-332 are not registered on the ARTG. Which of these are not peptides?
