Peptide reconstitution calculator

This peptide calculator converts the amount of peptide in a vial and the volume of bacteriostatic water added into a concentration, and shows what one unit on a U-100 syringe contains. It does arithmetic only and never suggests an amount.

Concentration5 mg/mL5,000 mcg/mL
Per syringe unit (0.01 mL)50 mcgA full 0.5 mL syringe holds 2.5 mg
Total units in the vial200 units4 full syringes

This calculator does arithmetic on the numbers you enter. It does not recommend an amount for any use. All products are for laboratory research only.

How it works

Concentration is the peptide mass divided by the volume of water: mg ÷ mL = mg/mL. Multiply by 1,000 for mcg/mL. On a U-100 syringe, 100 units equal 1 mL, so 1 unit is 0.01 mL, and the amount in one unit is the concentration multiplied by 0.01. For example, 10 mg in 2 mL gives 5 mg/mL, or 5,000 mcg/mL, so each unit holds 50 mcg and the vial holds 200 units in total. The syringe graphic marks the scale for the syringe size you pick.

FAQ

How do you calculate peptide concentration?

Divide the peptide mass in the vial by the volume of water added. 5 mg in 1 mL is 5 mg/mL; 5 mg in 2 mL is 2.5 mg/mL. Multiply mg/mL by 1,000 to express it in mcg/mL.

How many mL is one unit on a U-100 syringe?

One unit is 0.01 mL. A U-100 syringe is marked so that 100 units equal 1 mL, which means a 0.3 mL syringe has 30 units, a 0.5 mL syringe 50 units and a 1 mL syringe 100 units.

Does the volume of water change how much peptide is in the vial?

No. The water only sets the concentration. A 10 mg vial holds 10 mg whether 1 mL or 3 mL is added; more water spreads the same mass over more units, so each unit contains less.

Does the calculator recommend an amount?

No. It shows the maths for the numbers you enter: concentration, the content of one syringe unit and the total units in the vial. It does not suggest an amount for any purpose, and all Tasman products are sold for laboratory research only.

Why does the preset change the vial size?

Each preset loads the vial size of that Tasman product and a matching volume of bacteriostatic water, so the example reflects the vial you are working with. You can change either number, or choose Custom to enter your own.
